I have traveled to 54 countries and most of the times alone, so that I can define myself as a solo female traveller but I have many friends and cousins who have children. I also met many travelers who hit the roads with their kids. Here are a few things I learned from them and
While we were staying in Buenos Aires, Argentina we visited Uruguay which is a stone’s throw away distance from Buenos Aires. With a one-hour ferry trip you can reach Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay from Buenos Aires. We spent 5 days in Uruguay and visited one of the oldest towns in Uruguay; Colonia del Sacramento, the capital of Uruguay; Montevideo and Miami of South America; Punta Del Este. We found many common things between Uruguay and Argentina. Uruguay was a little bit expensive than Argentina though.
I have some good news for you. If you fly with Turkish Airlines your luggage won’t be a burden to you. Until your last moment in Istanbul you can enjoy your travel because you can drop your luggage at the Miniport offices, which are located in Taksim and Istanbul Ataturk Airport
The number of domestic flights in Turkey has been increasing in recent years because of the new airport constructions of the Turkish government and recent investments of the private airline companies. A flight ticket can be occasionally cheaper than a bus ticket owing to the promotion campaigns of the airlines.
My first visit to Buenos Aires and South America was in 2006 by myself. I only had stayed 4 days in Buenos Aires which captured my heart with its architecture, cuisine, friendly people and Tango. Last year I had the chance to visit Buenos Aires once again with my sister and a friend of mine. Three girls, we really had fun. This time I almost stayed a month in Argentina and visited Tigre, Cordoba, Mendoza, Salta, El Calafate and El Shanten besides Buenos Aires.
I am enthusiastic to learn about the new things but I am not a super tech-savvy person. I always needed an easy photo program to add my logo, shadow bar and to write my motto or website address on my travel photos. The programs I used were very complicated and expensive and took a lot of space on my computer. I was trying to find an easy way to watermark my photos and that was when my partner, Amin came to help me.
After a very interesting Chile trip, our next stop was Brazil. The main reason for our Brazil trip was the Carnival. My sister, a friend of mine who flew from Istanbul to join us, and I spent 15 days in Brazil. We visited Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Salvador de Bahia and Iguazu Falls. We really enjoyed the Rio and Recife carnivals of Brazil and its amazing nature. We were there during the carnival period so the prices were higher than normal time especially for accommodation. But Brazil is not the cheapest country in South America. You can read all of my previous posts, articles, pictures and experiences about Brazil using this link, and for more travel expenses and travel costs information, check out my Vacation Cost Series.
After spending three days and nights in Uyuni Salar which was an unforgettable experience, our trip ended at Portezuelo del Cajon (also called Hito Cajon) border which is between Chile and Bolivia. From this border, San Pedro de Atacama is 45 kilometres (28 miles) away. If you are going to cross this border, you should arrange your transportation ahead.
The real price of an airline ticket is not always the one written on it. Most of the times it actually is more than that. It may sound awkward to you but it is a fact because there are many hidden fees that airlines will charge you for. The prices on the websites and advertisements seem very reasonable and affordable but most of them have the hidden fees I’m going to tell you about.
